About the final project for: Introduction to Knitting with Circular Needles

Introduction to knitting with circular needles

“We have already reached the end of our course, although this has only just begun :) The knitted universe is infinite and full of creative possibilities, I invite you to make it a super tool to weave and build your way, following your tastes and what makes you feel good and represents you. Don't be shy, try everything that arouses your curiosity in this knitting world, discover the materials that your hands like to knit and your body to dress. Although, as you have seen, you can knit accessories, dolls, household utensils…. You already know that the limit is in your imagination! Mix the materials that call you. For example, if you don't like wool, look for other materials, try mixing them, not only two identical threads as we have seen, but also different qualities; the effects you can achieve are endless. Before saying goodbye, let's review the different development phases of the final project: a top-down garment. Knit the neck to the shoulders First of all, knit your sample in stockinette stitch and select your size. To make it easier for you to follow the pattern, point out the instructions that you have to knit according to your size. If you have any questions, you can review everything we saw in Unit 4. Then it's time to get down to business. As you will remember, we start by mounting the neck stitches and knitting those first rounds in a circle and garter stitch. Next, begin to increase on each side of the shoulders to obtain the desired contour of your body.

Back and front When you get the stitches you need for your widths, knit flat again. On the one hand the back and on the other the front, to give you the opening for the arms.
Finish the body and sleeves Then work the body as long as you want before closing the hem stitches. With the body ready, pick up the stitches to knit the sleeves as long as you want and close them as we saw in the lessons in Unit 5.
Finishes Finally, to finish the project, finish off the threads.
We did it!
You are done, now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your garment and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. So I can give you feedback. Now I hope to see you on the forum. As I have told you during the course, one of the most beautiful things in this knitting world is the community that is generated. Sharing ideas, feedback and tricks is tremendously inspiring, so take advantage of this meeting space, I am sure that ideas, tricks and illusion will multiply by a thousand, not to mention the luck of being able to find knitters close to you. I already told you that a good chatter around a knitting table is not wasted! There is also a huge community and inspiration in abundance on Instagram. I have met many colleagues and friends with whom I share my passion and my profession, let it be said that knitting is a lonely hobby! Nothing is further from reality! If you share something, do it with the hashtag # CarmenGarcíaDeMoraDomestika so I can see and share it. If there is something that I like almost as much as knitting, it is seeing how my students do what I teach and the patterns that I propose. Thank you very much for all these moments, see you in the forum! ”

“Final project We have reached the end of our course, but this has only just begun. The world of knitting is full of possibilities. I invite you to try what tickles your curiosity. As a refresher, we will review what we have seen. We started talking about materials so you can choose the most suitable for what you want to knit. You learned to combine the basic stitches and knit and design openwork, to file your swatches and read in them all the information you need. You learned to knit in the round, to read a pattern and select your size. Finally, you learned how a garment is structured from ...”
