Sensory design in commercial spaces aims to engage customers’ senses through elements like color, lighting, textures, scents, and sound, creating memorable experiences and strengthening emotional connections with the brand.

This course is designed for professionals and students in interior design, architecture, marketing, and retail who want to create multisensory experiences in commercial and dining spaces.

No prior experience is required, though having basic interior design knowledge or an interest in the commercial and food sectors is recommended.

You’ll learn how to apply sensory marketing and neuromarketing strategies to enhance user experience, influence consumer behavior, and help brands stand out in stores and restaurants.

You’ll need a computer, internet access, basic freehand drawing materials, and software for visual presentations and mood boards. A camera or smartphone is also recommended for fieldwork.

The course covers project management, window dressing, sensory lighting, material selection, color use, organic architecture, olfactory and auditory marketing, accessibility, augmented reality, and practical cases in fashion and restaurants.

You’ll learn to combine visual, auditory, olfactory, gustatory, and tactile stimuli to craft environments that boost user experience and reinforce the identity of the space and brand.
