About the final project for: Comic Strip Creation: Illustrating Unique Stories

Comic Strip Creation: Illustrating Unique Stories

“I hope you’ve enjoyed the journey, and now we finally get to see all the elements applied to your own comic. I hope I was able to help you define what makes your comic uniquely you. For your final project, you will create a single comic from your series. The comic should represent what your series will be, and it should have a clear identity. Remember the elements that comprise your comic’s identity- its theme, its voice, and its style. It can be a single-panel comic, four panels, whatever you’d like. Scary, funny, sad, anything- just make sure it’s yours. Let's do an overview of the main steps you should follow: Write any and every idea that comes to mind in your sketchbook. Select three of those ideas to create concepts about, and then turn one of those concepts into a script. Turn your script into a rough sketch. Get feedback and make changes if necessary.

Once you have a final sketch and a clear idea of what you want your comic to look like, it's time to turn it digital with whatever means you have available.
Finally, use your comic commandments as a checklist to review your piece. Share your final work with the community, including images and a brief description of the different steps of your process. If you want, you can also post your comic on Instagram using the hashtag #JimmyCraigDomestika. I am so happy and honored that you took this course, and I am so excited to see your work. I will be actively checking in to answer questions and see what you’ve made. Thank you and see you soon! ”

Make sure your comic has its own unique identity, and a comic's identity is composed of its theme, voice and style. Get in the habit of taking notes, write down everything. Write with clarity and purpose, have a clear setup and punch line. Use social media to share your comic, but also to engage and participate. Set a schedule and do your best to stick to it. And get out there and do things that keep yo...”
