“Materials Now, we'll go over the materials we're using in this course. The sketchbook comes first. This is the foundation of your work. It’s what you’ll use to think and capture all of your ideas. I really like Japanese sketchbooks. They open easily, they're broad, and they have a lot of space where you can draw and write. The paper needs to be smooth. It’s much easier to draw there. You also want your notebook to open easily and for the paper to be resistant. So, if you want to add a tiny bit of gouache or add detail with ink, you can do it easily. Paper is really important too.
