About the final project for: Macramé: Decorate Your Slippers and Sandals

Macramé: Decorate Your Slippers and Sandals

“We come to the end of the course and it is time to finish and share your project. of all, some advice: I always recommend using ropes around 3 mm so that the resulting fabric is not rough. When it comes to introducing several colors in the same model, I always choose not to mix warm and cold tones in the same design. If you want, try to link them as gradually as possible. It is important that when choosing the base where you are going to introduce your fabric, it is as smooth as possible, and that the garment is basic enough so that it is the macramé piece that captures all the attention and stands out on it. I encourage you to combine different knots and create new designs, that you intertwine them with so many others and that you find yourself through them. As I said before, macramé should go beyond decoration, and I encourage you to follow my steps to take this technique a little beyond the conventional. Next, we are going to review the development phases of the final project: Preparation As we saw in Unit 2, the first step is to find inspiration to decide what project to do and what color palette to use. Next, choose a good base to make your shoe and sandal, as I taught you in the first lesson of Unit 3.

Creation of the shoe Now is the time to knit the piece for your shoe. Guiding you through the process that I followed in the video lesson, you will be able to weave little by little and using the knots that I taught you during the course.
Creation of the sandal Then weave the design for your sandal, following the advice and recommendations on materials and techniques that I gave you in the video lessons in Unit 3.
Final result Finally, sew your fabrics to the bases of the shoe and the sandal. You got it!
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your shoe and your sandal and the steps that have led you to them. It would be great if you showed an image of each step (how each one has evolved little by little) and that you add a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. So I can give you feedback. On the other hand, if in addition to the Domestika community, you want to share your creation with everyone, you can upload photos of them to Instagram with the hashtag #IsabelVidalDomestika Thank you very much for trusting in my work, for me it is an honor to be able to teach my creative process and share it with you, I hope I have helped you to get more into this great family that is the world of macramé. See you on the forum. See you soon! ”

“Final project In this lesson I will give you a summary of everything I taught you in the course. To start, I showed you the materials and tools you need. And then I showed you a sample of basic macrame stitches and other slightly more complex variants. Below I have told you how my inspiration process is and how I define the color palette in my creations. Then I have given you some guidelines on how to choose the basis of the slippers and sandals that we have created. Later I showed you how to make a weave with macramé knots that has shaped our shoe and later our sandal. Finally, I have told...”
