About the final project for: Graphic Illustration Laboratory

Graphic Illustration Laboratory

“I hope you enjoyed our journey as much as I did. I hope that my reports and experiences contribute to your artistic evolution and that you reflect on the themes and techniques discussed here that I showed you with such affection. Three important tips Always have a sketchbook on hand to record, experiment and graphically explore different ways of expressing yourself through drawing. Pay attention to the steps of building the image, the importance of drawing without fear, planning, testing techniques such as graphite, charcoal, ink, acrylic paint and that your works increasingly show your personality. So you will create and develop a unique style. Understand the steps of a project so that you can start and finish your project. My project During the sketching process, I inserted a little fantasy and thought of tentacles coming out of the coffee pot. With the composition already structured, I did some chromatic studies, tested some color combinations to know which path to follow in the finalization. Then, I transferred the drawing to a larger paper and transferred the strokes to a heavier paper, in my case I used a 300g watercolor paper by the Fabriano brand, but you can do it with other papers, no matter the brand, the important thing is to have a weight that can handle ink. I fixed the sheet with adhesive tape on a rigid surface, used a piece of cardboard. I started to apply acrylic paint in a more liquid way and started to insert more opaque pigment in areas of greater contrast. With the painting done, I scanned the image. In Photoshop, I made some brightness and contrast adjustments and applied the typography that was already planned in the sketches. With everything ready, I made the impression in A3 format and went to have a coffee to celebrate. :) You can make your print in A4 format to check the colors and composition. When you have the opportunity, do it in A3. Here are some parts of my creative process:

Your final project Research, train, be curious and analyze the results of your work whenever possible. This reflection will do well for your way of drawing and your work will always have the freshness of something new. Choose a part of your home and make a beautiful poster based on your theme with experimentation of the course exercises. Good luck with your project, I will be watching to share it here on our forum with the steps of your process and the result of the final work :) Also, comment on the work of colleagues, as receiving feedback also helps us to learn more! I will be present whenever possible, but be patient if my response takes a while. I will also share here when something new comes up that can contribute to the issues we saw in this course. Good designs and good textures! ”
