To help me interlock colours, what I have here is I've got a haberdashery needle which is just a wool needle with a very large eye. my trusty book some scissors and some cotton. I'm using a contrasting colour today just so you can see exactly what I'm doing. But you might want to use a very similar colour to your semicircle just so you can get that really nice blending.
