Performance Photography

After leaving his office job as administrative, Matías Altbach decided to hang the camera around his neck and tour the concert halls of Buenos Aires, his hometown, portraying the musical scene of the Argentine capital.

Since then he has traveled half the world photographing music stars such as The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Blur, Muse, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, The Who, Neil Young, The Strokes or Eminem. He has given coverage as official photographer to a score of festivals around the world, including Roskilde (Denmark), Lollapalooza Berlin (Germany) and Music Wins (Argentina); and his photographs have been published in international media such as NME, Mojo, Billboard, BBC, Rolling Stone, London Metro Newspaper, The Sun and numerous publications from Germany, Denmark, UK, Australia, Mexico and Argentina.

In 2014 he was elected Best Music Photographer of the year by the prestigious English magazine NME together with Nikon.

In addition to his career as a photographer, Matías develops his career as a consultant in different projects related to art and culture.
