About the final project for: Photorealistic Product Rendering with KeyShot

Photorealistic Product Rendering with KeyShot

“Dear student, we have reached the end of the course and it is time for you to do your own project. Build the image or scene of your piece of furniture, or whatever you decide to do with the tools I taught you in Keyshot. I invite you to apply all the knowledge you acquired with the course in your own work, and then share it with pride. Remember that you do not necessarily have to work with the model a piece of furniture, it can also be a car, a motorcycle in context, a toy, or even plants (believe me, they are challenging to render!). The only important thing is that you pay careful attention to the details, from the search for references to the final adjustments in post-production. I would love to see your final project, I leave you an example of how I would like to see it: The mood board Start a search for references in the sites of your choice, you can save everything you like, from colors, textures, objects, backgrounds and more. Once that is ready, make another selection now thinking about what you would like to do and make the moodboar to use as inspiration and starting point.

Your furniture in KeyShot You already have in mind the piece of furniture you want to carry out; remember that it doesn't necessarily have to be a piece of furniture if you don't want it. Start assigning materials and adjusting textures. Do not forget to ensure that the orientation of the textures is consistent with reality.
The light Work on the basic lighting of the image, and set the cameras to define the framing of your scene. It is important that the composition captures the exact point of natural blur, and that it enhances the object in the scene. It is very important to work with the correct scale.
Rendering and context Carry out the rendering process, seeking to achieve the best results in the shortest possible time. Then add context to the image, that is, elements that place your furniture in a space that will give it life. To reinforce this you can rely on advanced lighting, so you will illuminate the environment; and also by physical lighting, which will complement the overall lighting of the interior scene. Remember that for the elements that accompany your main furniture you can seek to give them more realistic textures, with greater control of brightness, geometry and even imperfections.
completion Carry out post-production in Keyshot for a more cinematic look through adjusting color curves, chromatic aberration, vignetting, and more. In addition, you can make the final touches in Photoshop, for this stage I suggest that you take the time to review color profiles, adjustment layers and other details that are important to achieve a totally photorealistic image.
Ready, you have your photorealistic product! It has been an honor to be able to teach you my workflow and my methodology. Teaching is one of the subjects that I am passionate about as a professional, so I will be waiting for your doubts. I especially recommend you participate in the rendering challenges that exist on Instagram; in which I, personally, try to contribute whenever I can. I also invite you to participate in the course forum and practice a lot, this will allow you to improve your skills as a 3D artist. Finally, I ask you not to forget to upload your final project. I wish you a lot of success and see you! ”

I showed you the principles of photorealism, PBR materials and HDR lighting, and I showed you my process to create a mood board. In KeyShot we learned to assign the materials and adjust the textures, making sure that the orientation of the textures corresponds to reality. We worked on the basic lighting of the image. We set up the cameras to define the framing of the scene. It is very important to work with the correc...”
