About the final project for: Interior Design with Curved Lines

Interior Design with Curved Lines

“The project will have a free theme, but it will be essential to include the curve as the main idea, from the conceptualization to the distribution and the proposal of materials and furniture. Remember everything we have learned during the course, and become aware of the lines, shapes and colors that you are going to choose. Decide how they play with the space and how, in turn, all that is finished off by the lighting you propose. Don't forget to play with the arc, circle, oval, and free shapes. Choose the architectural elements and the pieces in which you will most enhance the use of the curve (windows, walls, screens, door steps, etc). Remember what properties the curve offers you to convey sensations to your project and enhance them through materials, colors and lighting. Get inspired and create your own briefing to have a solid starting point. Also, do not forget that the partitions do not have to reach the ceiling, that a simple division can help you to include the curve in the project and that rounding edges is very effective to have a more comfortable space. Now we are going to briefly review the development phases of the final project: Inspiration and concept Always have an open mind to inspire you, anything can give you ideas and motivate you for your projects. Start by collecting inspiring images and develop a dynamic mood board, which you can have as a reference during the project to choose the materials, the color palette, etc. In addition to collecting references in photos in folders or Pinterest boards, making a dynamic mood board allows you to adapt everything throughout the process.

Distribution To plan the distribution of the project, you must first know or identify your needs or those of the client, if you work for one. When you have them clear, go through different tests to clearly determine where and how you are going to include the curves in your project. In addition to presenting it in a hand-drawn plan or with a computer program, making a basic model can also help you to imagine how your project will finally look in real life.
Presentation of the finished project Make a small presentation to be able to communicate the idea of your project with curves. It does not have to be a very extensive presentation, the important thing is that the concept is explained through reference images or words. A final distribution plant by hand or with a computer program and a visual representation of how it would look, through drawings, collage, model or computer program. In the additional resources of Unit 3 I have left you the presentation example of my La Casa Ola project.
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final presentation of your finished project (sharing all the images) and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed each step you have taken and added an image and a brief explanation of what you have done in each one (how you have chosen the concept of the project, how you have planned the distribution, what color and lighting palette you have chosen , etc.). So I can give you feedback. On the other hand, if in addition to the Domestika community, you want to share your creation with everyone, you can upload photos of them to Instagram with the hashtag #PatriciaBustosDomestika So far this course has come, where I hope you have fallen in love with the curve as much as I did and have convinced yourself of all the advantages that its use offers us. In the forum I will be happy to answer your questions so that you have a brutal project, and I am sure that it will be. I ask you for a little patience with the answers, since, as you know, I have an interior design studio. Meanwhile, I encourage you to participate in the forum and comment and interact with the rest of the students, sharing opinions and advice is really enriching! I have been very happy trying to convey my passion to you, I am looking forward to seeing your project! ”
