About the final project for: Creating Characters for Children's Stories with Procreate

Creating Characters for Children's Stories with Procreate

“We have reached the end of the course. I hope you enjoyed the whole process as much as I did. Next, we are going to review the different steps to follow to develop your final project: Create a mood board This exercise is very useful to visually put the notes of your characters. Of all the images that I look for as a reference for a project, I put the most important ones in a single document and add annotations of things that I do not want to forget.

Make the sketch After having made different sketches and tests to create your characters, it is time to make the final sketch of our illustration. Take one of your sketches and place the elements in your scene. Help yourself with a perspective grid as we saw in Unit 4 of the course.
Ink your drawing Configure a brush with the parameters that are most suitable for inking your drawing, go over all the lines and take advantage if you want to correct something to define your final drawing.
Let's color! Using the techniques we saw in Unit 4 of the course, color the different elements of your illustration.
Final details Add highlights and shadows to your illustration to give it its final finish. When it's done, export your artwork ... and share it with the world!
Remember to upload your final project, both the finished illustration and images in which you can see different stages of your process. You have a unique voice that is based on your personal experiences and tastes. When you are looking for your idea for your characters, look in the things that you have lived and the things that are important to you. This will create something that only you could do. Be patient when doing your exercises, remember that it is easier to learn if you are having fun doing it. It's okay to check out other people's work for inspiration and learn new things, but don't forget that the only person you should compare yourself to is yourself. One of the most important resources for an illustrator are friends who inspire him to keep improving. Participate in the forum and look for those kind people who want to help you grow. It was a pleasure to share my process with you. I do not say goodbye at all, since I will be visiting the forum to say hello from time to time and review your tasks. There may be times when my work gets put together and I can't review as often, please bear with me a bit as I finish the project I'm working on. Good luck on your way, I hope you never stop drawing and that it makes you very happy to do so. ”

“FINAL PROJECT Now I will give you a summary of what we were seeing in the course for you to upload your final project. First I explained to you where my ideas come from, I showed you what questions you can ask yourself or your client to be able to develop your character. To put this into practice, I used the phrase: "A boy and his imaginary friend" to be able to create a character with his little companion. And I invited you to do the same and you will answer your questions so that you can create your own character. When you create your character, I remind you that you have a unique voice b...”
