About the final project for: Animated Illustration in Procreate: Tell a Story with Movement

Animated Illustration with Procreate - Tell a story in motion

“We have reached the end of this course. I hope that everything we have seen throughout each lesson is useful to you, to be able to develop your own project. Remember that no creative process is linear, so there is no perfect recipe. I have shared with you the resources that I use most often and those that usually lead me to obtain a better result. The lists are useful to see the elements that we have to take into account, list them and discard everything that we do not see clearly. But, above all, it is at the moment of starting to make sketches that we will see if the ideas really work, or not. Take your time to reflect on this point. Next, I am going to review the different phases to follow to develop the final project. To work, I proposed 3 topics to illustrate in your final project. The proposed topics are: • Environment and climate change - Deniers. • Fake news and social networks. • Political speeches and electoral promises. Anyway, they are only suggestions, it is important that you know that you can illustrate the subject you want. It does not have to be any of those that I propose, or respond to a news item, and much less does it have to be current. You can choose to tell your own story. Approach and concept After having defined the concept of what you are going to draw with the help of brainstorming and a mind map, create a storyboard with the narration that you are going to represent.

Inspiration and documentation Next, get the necessary images to serve as documentation and collect them for your reference.
Sketch Start making a sketch by looking at your reference images. Divide the screen to have your drawing on one side and the model on which you are based on the other can help you.
Drawing and animation Refine and go adding detail to the drawing and see animating it little by little as we saw step by step in the lesson "Under construction" in Unit 3. Once you have all the animation completely drawn, go to the clean up and add color to it.
Export and final result Export your animation as I taught you in Unit 4 so you can share it with the whole world. You got it!
Now share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". Remember to share both the final result of your illustration and the steps that have led you to it. It would be great if you showed a picture of each step and added a brief explanation about what you have done in each one. So I can give you feedback. On the other hand, if in addition to the Domestika community, you want to share your creation with everyone, you can upload photos of them to Instagram with the hashtag # MartínTognolaDomestika Don't forget to go through the forum, where in addition to sharing your final project and showing parts of your process, you can interact with the rest of your colleagues. I will be attentive to clear your doubts and give you feedback. And if you see that I do not respond immediately, I ask you to have a little patience. That will mean that I am in the middle of a delivery or serving a client. Greetings and see you soon! ”

“Final Project Now I'll give you a summary of everything you learned in our course. We started getting familiar with the Procreate animation tool. I taught you about moving and animating. I suggested how to add intentionality to your work in order to surprise the reader and to explain something to them. I showed you different types of visual storytelling. We went over conceptual illustrations in panels or in a sequence. We went over different figures of speech with some examples to help you develop your own project. I showed you how I work on an animated illustration from scratch, starting w...”
