“Dear fellow creatives, now you have accompanied us throughout our design process. We have explored what interior design is all about and its developing nature, which is always affected by the ever-changing needs of people. We started diving into explaining the importance of storytelling and creative narratives where you can look at to collect the information that will help you weave these intricate and invigorating stories, and how to put all these together coherently and excitingly for your clients. We have also started looking into space as a whole, understanding its functions, and the importance of working out the best possible layout solutions. We have continued by describing what are the finer details and considerations you have to take on board while in the design process. We emphasized the fundamental role of colours and materials in interior design, the key part of furniture selection as well as how to look for and recognise upcoming trends. We have also highlighted how sketching can be a tool that benefits your creative flow at the initial stages of the design process and a medium to communicate your ideas to your clients. We have concluded by explaining how all of the above can assist you to put together a compelling story through the use of mood boards. We continued with delving into the specifics of the design process where we became a bit more detailed on how to choose colours, materials, and furniture and explained their interdependence and interaction within an interior. Once we took you through the essential steps of putting together a design concept and translating it into an interior, we elaborated on the best way to present your ideas to your client, get their feedback and utilise it to continue with your project and complete it in the best possible way. In the following steps, we investigated the more practical side of an interior design project including organizing your files, putting together specification documents, creating technical drawings, and organizing teams. All essential elements for the smooth development of your projects. Before handing over the project, we have also discussed the importance of interior styling that will help you further refine and complete both yours and your client's creative vision. Finally, we have talked to you about the advantages of promoting your work through different mediums and how vital it is to approach new clients. Now it is time to embark on your creative journey and complete your own interior. Be creative and at the beginning of the project don’t be afraid to experiment with as many ideas as possible. Details are important, explore new materials, colours and combinations. Communicate your concept in the best possible way. Most importantly do not rush to create a moodboard, it is a very important part of your project, and will guide you through every step of the way. Remember we all come from different backgrounds.
