Familiarize yourself with acrylic paint by testing
Painting with acrylic paint on polymer clay is different than painting on a sheet of paper. To familiarize yourself with this new medium, I recommend that you do some tests on white polymer clay plates. Try mixing your acrylic paint with different degrees of dilution in water for different effects.

Prepare your color palettes for your projects
Before you start painting a piece, you must prepare your color palette by mixing the base colors that you have at your disposal. For that, I recommend that you use your mood board to help you choose colors. Do not forget that acrylic paints dry very quickly, so you should use them right after you have prepared them.

It's time to paint Practice exercise 4.1
Now that you have your colors ready, you can move on to painting your piece using the techniques you have learned. Don't forget to let the paint dry completely between layers. After this stage, share a photo on the forum so I can give you some feedback.

Apply the last details Practice exercise 4.2
After painting your piece apply the last details. It is a way of personalizing and / or adding realism to your piece. As I explained to you in class, you don't need to apply gold details. You can use silver or other colors.

Try Adobe Color to create palettes from images
Adobe Color
In the attached documents of this unit, I added more tips that I learned from experience to help you understand how to prepare a harmonious color palette for your project. To assist you in this task, I also leave you the link to Adobe Color. With this software, you can upload an image with colors that you like and it will soon create a harmonious color palette. With this tool's color wheel, you can also create your own palettes from the colors you want, experimenting with different color schemes, such as learning more about color theory and its color harmony rules. This tool is mainly used by digital illustrators and designers, but I think it can also be useful in painting on polymer clay, especially if you have a more complex project to do.
