About the final project for: Pom-Pom Design and Creation

Pom-Pom Design and Creation

“We have now come to the end of the pompom wreath course. Thank you for joining me, I hope you enjoyed learning as much as I enjoyed creating
and teaching the course. During the course, we have learnt so much! All about the best yarns for making pompoms, how to make basic ones through to more complex ones, how to record the patterns so you always have a reference for them, and of course, the whole reason we came on the course - our gorgeous pompom wreath. Don’t forget the five golden rules of pompom making:

  • Always use two halves of your pompom maker.
  • Wrap consistently and carefully, neither too tight nor too loose.
  • Never open the makers before you’ve tied the yarn around the middle.
  • Tie double knots as tight as you can.
  • Trim. trim and then trim some more.
Let me show you some examples of what I came up with, following the aforementioned tips.
I have no doubt that you will all have been bitten by the pompom making bug and I’m sure many of you will continue to experiment and make different types of pompoms - there's a whole world of animals, food, plants, and even people out there crying out to be recreated in pompom form. Now you have your wreath (or maybe multiple wreaths for each season) maybe you will try making garlands, mobiles, or even something crazy like a pompom covered coat?! I can’t wait to see what you get up to. Remember to keep tagging me on Instagram @sewyeah #sewyeahpompomparty so I can see what you’ve been creating. I’ve really enjoyed creating this course and sharing my love of pompoms with you. I look forward to chatting with you more, I am always here with advice, encouragement, and suggestions and will always endeavour to get back to your queries in a timely fashion if I’m not buried under a whole heap of pompoms that is! Once you are in the pompom world you will find many like-minded souls out there, go and say hi with other people on this course, connect with them over your love of wool and fluffy balls!! We are a friendly gang and will always welcome you in. Happy Pompoming. Christine, Chief Pompommer. ”
