About the final project for: Introduction to UI Design

Introduction to UI Design

“Hello! You have reached the end of the course. Throughout the course I told you a lot of experiences and feelings that surround this wonderful world of UI, I told you how everything at the end of the day has become a rewarding experience, it has led me not only to learn more about the subject , but also, to want to know more about him every day. I have the firm belief that this community is growing day by day and sharing what we know is key to achieving better and better results in the UI. That is why at every opportunity I share with you everything I have learned along the way. But, now is your time to start this journey, the time has come to start, your own project! To help you along the way I share the series of steps I followed to create mine. We'll see! Choose your tool I showed you a wide variety of tools that you can use to create your project. In my case, I chose Figma, I told you some of the reasons why I decided to use this tool. But, you can use the one you want, I recommend that you use the one with which you feel best and most comfortable.

Start your design process! Before taking any road, it is important that you know what you want or where you want to go. I taught you that some of the key questions are: understand the problem and think about the user. Remember that there will be times when you must work as a team! Don't be afraid to communicate with the programmers, if you have a clear idea, it will be easier for them to understand you.
Your benchmark To start creating interfaces, I showed you how to create your benchmarks. In this case I did it for “Freshi”. I show you how to make two types, the first taking into account products that my brand already has and the second focused only on design.
The wireframes I started creating my wireframes and I showed you how to use them to materialize our ideas. I recommend that you always keep in mind the phrase: "What do I want to communicate?" Think about the structure and the information! It doesn't have to be perfect, you can start out like I did by taking a pencil and paper. Then you will have time to perfect them.
A few letters here and other letters there I selected the font for my project, taking into account issues such as size, weight and even the types of texts. I mentioned the importance of harmony and how to achieve it with typography, since it defines 80% of it.
The layouts I started by designing the box models , and I showed you how to use them to optimize spaces. I also generated the necessary hierarchies for our responsive website.
How to use colors? I used RGB colors to later be able to choose the most suitable colors for my project, so I could define my color palette. Remember that digital colors work differently, therefore, it is important that you always do so taking into account RGB colors.
The icons Look for the appropriate icons for my project, taking into account that they were all from the same family. The icons can say more than a thousand words, it is important that you do not give up the search until you find the best ones.
Make your buttons! I showed you how to create the appropriate buttons. Make mine taking into account whether you wanted them to be primary, secondary or tertiary buttons.
Lists and cards Finally I made the lists of some products that share certain characteristics. I also made some cards, making sure they contain everything necessary to communicate the information that I need to send to the user.
Design your login! I did the logins of my project, both for the computer and for the mobile .
And voila, you already have your responsive website! Whenever you start a project, I recommend constantly asking yourself the question "why", this will be of great help to identify if what you want to create solves any problem. The best advice I can give you is to always keep your curiosity alive, in this way you can always be learning, knowing and you will feel more comfortable to start a new adventure. It has given me great pleasure to share this new course with you, I hope it has helped you to create all the ideas in your mind or simply to clarify some doubts. Don't forget to share the result of your final project! A big hug from Peru! 🇵🇪 ”

In Unit 1, we talked on the "mindset" that a UI Designer should have and how continuous learning in this career is essential. I taught you the process of designing a digital product and I showed you the tools that you will use, like Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD, to start your projects. Then we talk about inspiration, the benchmark and the importance of wireframes. We dedicate two units to treat the concepts that every designer should know, such as typography, color, layout and icons. We also talked a...”
