About the final project for: Fan Art with Style

Fan Art with Style

“Thank you so much for having spent your time here learning fanart techniques with me. I hope you had fun too. :) Now that you know more about fanart and style, it's time to create an illustration of yours that brings together the best of these two universes. Let's go to the final project! First choose a topic. We saw that there are some ideas that usually work for fanart. For example, adapting a work from the past into the present and vice versa. Choosing a topic is very important, so take your time and think of something that is valuable to you. Remember that one of the coolest points of the fanart is the connection that the author has with the work he is drawing. The next point is to place your artistic references on a panel, the mood board of inspirations. This tool helps to understand what you admire in each artist and see how each one applies colors, lines and shapes. Along with this artists mood board, you will also create a mood board for your project references. This includes arts, clothes, models, colors, ideas, everything that can help when making the sketch. Good luck in your research! In the next step, the idea is to start drawing. Do some draft tests on thumbnails and only then choose the composition you are going to follow. When choosing, think about the shapes in your drawing and choose the one that will dictate how to solve the details in the characters and scenarios. Then think about the line you are going to adopt and create a closed color palette to give your style even more cohesion. That done, solve the shadows and contrasts in the drawing. The next step is to finalize. Add textures from photos or using Photoshop's own functions. Correct the colors, and the contrasts too, using the tools mentioned in the lesson. With the drawing ready, publish! Show your fanart on the course forum and on social media! I repeat here the hashtags for when you post on social networks: #HelderOliveiraDomestika and #Domestika.

I look forward to meeting your fanart and your style. Remember that what you create here is just the beginning and that the style always evolves. Be open to change and grow! The forum is open for questions, I will answer as soon as I can and you can go on chatting and exchanging information yourself. You always learn something by watching other people's practice! To the next! ”

“Final project We have reached the end of the course. You learned about the importance of referrals and the absorption of various sources and personal experiences that go beyond images and works by other artists. Then, you could reflect on style and get to know some themes that always work, in addition to the importance of researching and organizing everything on a mood board. I showed how to create a visual identity focusing on some aspects, like colors, lines, shapes and composition. When creating your project, feel free to choose a different theme. Remember that the unexpected turns out t...”
