About the video: Presentation

Overview

“My name is Sergio Bleda, I was born in 1974 in Albacete and I have been professionally dedicated to creating comics since 1991. I started working for national magazines such as El Vívora or Kiss Cómix . A few years later, I started working for international publishers, mainly European ones. I have also worked in film and advertising. Although color is seen as something superfluous and is there to make works more commercial, I think it is, above all, an important narrative tool. Well used, it can be very useful, not only in making our works more beautiful, but also to transmit the emotions of the characters more effectively and to help narrate the story. Watercolor and spot color allow me to have control over that tool and, at the same time, help me enjoy my work. I love to stain my hands and watch the color mix with the water and spread across the page. ”

In this video lesson Sergio Bleda addresses the topic: Presentation, which is part of the Domestika online course: Watercolor Coloring for Comics and Illustrations. Learn direct coloring techniques and how to apply them to your vignettes and illustrated stories.
