About the final project for: Designing and Illustrating Antagonistic Characters

Design and illustration of antagonistic characters

“Well, it seems incredible but we have reached the end of the course. I hope you enjoyed it, for me it was a very intense experience and I love having the possibility to share with you this process that I am so passionate about and in which I get completely involved and put a lot of myself. First of all, establish the initial concept for the two antagonistic characters that you will bring to life based on your existing references or archetypes and adapt them. You elaborate their personal stories and give them identity and context. Creating mood boards can be very helpful.

Then, design the characters, their clothes and accessories. It is important that you use a previously established colour palette. Add details and shadows to your creations to give them more visual impact and personality.
Finally, it adds the final details to the characters: shines, shadows, special powers, etc. He also creates various poses to give them dynamism. At this point, if you haven't already done so, you should give them names to finish outlining their identity.
Creating characters is something very special as we bring them to life, personify them and build non-existent narratives. If we add to this that they are two and antagonistic, everything is enhanced much more. This process can be taken wherever you want and has endless possibilities and applications. I wish that, with the tools that we saw throughout the lessons, you create an infinite universe of characters and that each one of them has something of your own. This is one of the coolest tasks in my profession and I would love for it to be that way for you too. This is not a goodbye, see you soon in the forum. I'm sure I'm going to see a lot of super interesting creations. Thanks a million for being here! ”

“FINAL PROJECT We have already reached the end of the course and we finally managed to build our two antagonistic characters. To do this, we took a tour, which first led us to ask ourselves why are these characters antagonistic, why do we choose that type of character typology, and we began to investigate examples that exist in reality and we build a mood board, where we take sources and references to inspire us. After having an idea, a defined identity and a story for the characters, we move on to the visual representation, we saw his face, his body, his morphology, we compared him with ani...”
