Judy Matheson

Judy M. lives in Vancouver BC. Her former career was in Nursing, mainly in Public Health, working with families, children and youth as well as a three year stint in Community Development, that included input into policy. Since retiring she became an avid follower of local and global politics. She spends a vast amount of time reading newspapers, journals, magazines and research, particularly about social justice and political ideology. Class, social stratification, inequality and equity drive her to explore policies and politics— these contentious subjects take up a lot of her headspace.

Judy’s main ennui, is the rise of populism and the increasing breakdown of community, and ethical standards. Is hedonism really permeating our culture nationally and globally? She is interested in exploring life’s enigma— what drives people to act as they do— and what makes people do good, or engage in altruism rather than self interest. Her goal is to explore human nature via the characters in her writing.
