I have always had an aptitude for the arts. When I was in high school I was certain I was going to go to SCAD and pursue an art career, but as per the norm for our kind, I was told it is incredibly hard to make a career out of "just art." So I graduated and basically left the art world behind and went into animal medicine for 13+ years. I've always had the art itch just nagging in the back of my soul, so I allow it to come out in sporadic moments. Now at 37 years old, and no longer in the animal medicine profession or practicing art like i once loved, I feel lost. I am currently going to school for Graphic Design, and although I do appreciate these classes for allowing me to use some of my creativity, I still have a longing for working with physical paints, particularly watercolors.

My absolute favorite artist is Lora Zombie. Her use of colors and images bring me to tears (literally.) A second favorite artist of mine is Shubina. I love her style and the use of Pin-Up girls. I would love to learn more on how she accomplishes her work. This brings me to another favorite of mine, Gil Elvgren. When you think of the Pin-Up era, It would be hard not to automatically think of some of his work (and Vargas).
