Hello, My name is Richard Kehinde Adebayo Olowoyo, i am a creator with numerous untold and unwritten stories that need to be told. My art is like a kaleidoscope of a process with themes of facing your fears, reclaiming your life after traumatic experiences, love, a new style in expressing black pride and joy, macabre, horror and fantasy. You are in for a bumpy but enlightened experience. My first love for art all began with pictures of " A Modern Stone age Family" and I wanted draw and copy the movements, then, I see superheroes in a comic book like X-Men, Batman, Green Lantern, and the rest was history.
Firstly, I am an eclectic and passionate visual artist for 32 years with 10 years of freelance art experience in the Knoxville Community Events with expertise in drawing, mixed media, and portraiture. Specializes in drawing contemporary, pop art portraits based on polychromatic or monochromatic color patterns based on the following: favorite colors, nationality flags, gender and sexuality flags, anything with colors and symbolism that emulates humanity’s personalities and identities to being part of a tribe that makes them feel proud about themselves.
Secondly, I am an artivist( art and activist) who uses my creativity to express various social issues by the following: Racism, Abelism, Mental Illness, and anything that is harmful to multiple minorities of the world by bringing truth to power sparking a powerful impact of emotions to get people to think and act constructively to make the world a better and safer place for everyone.
My influences? I used to don't have any particular inspirations. however, I found an assortment of artist that influenced and inspired me and my current works. Andy Warhol taught me how to see, mix, and experiment with various colors. Jean-Michel Basquiat taught me to express myself and not worry what others think. Aaron Douglas taught me how to be organized and disciplined in my works. George Washington Carver taught me not just to explore and critically think different avenues in math, science and painting( he did an arsenal before he died) along with Leonardo Da Vinci . Frida Kahlo taught me to embrace pain and love nature as it evolves while constantly changing. Kehinde Wiley, a Nigerian brother from another mother taught me to be smooth, cool and confident in what I do no matter what.
I am an active community event participant and a multi-disciplinary artist who enjoys making art magical for everybody, I am Seeking to meet new challenges in this online learning classes to master my artistry as a Jack of All the Arts.
