What began as a technique based on combining fragments of paper, photographs, or found objects has evolved into a discipline present in illustration, graphic design, fashion, contemporary photography, and even social media. Its appeal lies in the ability to create new narratives from elements that originally belonged to different contexts. Today, collage exists at the intersection of the analog and the digital. Some artists continue to work with scissors, glue, and old magazines, while others incorporate digital tools, animation, photography, or mixed media to expand the medium’s possibilities. This diversity has given rise to a vibrant creative scene in which numerous women artists stand out, using collage to explore themes such as identity, memory, visual culture, nature, and social critique.
