Following a professional career as a Librarian, I completed a course in teaching adults and was then able to channel my creative side and ran a business with a number of artists working in the community teaching a wide range of arts and crafts, and through this business I gained skills in felt making, embroidery and mixed media.
A few years ago I joined a local art group and started to paint flowers. I am self taught and just follow my instincts which does not always result in success!
I also have a keen untutored interest in medieval history and illuminated manuscripts and use these beautiful books as inspiration for small projects and these have led me to paint various projects on wood, for which I use acrylics.
I am keen to explore watercolour, acrylics, drawing, botanical illustration, drawing and painting birds and animals .... and each course adds to my existing skill set - very inspirational.
