Brian Yost

I'm a professor of American Literature and Writing at a small college in a small town in the southern part of Georgia, where I've lived and worked for the past 6 years. I've always been interested in creative expression in any form, but I've never had any actual training in painting or illustration. Growing up, I moved all across the United States and spent time living in Spain, Portugal, and Guatemala. The variety of experience I've had in these places, as well as the diversity of people I've live with, have shaped my interest in a wide range of styles and schools, but I think if I had to characterize my interests, I'd have to say I am drawn more often to abstract works. I'm really looking forward to this course, especially learning the basics of how to paint.
