Being a Libran, I have always had an artistic flair, one way or another. From drawing my superheroes on my schoolbooks to the popstars of my day, I have always been interested in Art.
I have not had any formal training, apart from Higher Art at College and street graffiti !!!
I used Art as a stress buster while working full time in Architecture in Glasgow's East End for 30+ years and built up quite a substantial collection over the years, wondering what to do with them apart from sitting in a drawer.
I specialise in pen and ink drawings, inspired from my architectural training, pencil drawings from story books, inspired by the child in me and the smile it gives me and recently took on watercolour painting various subjects inspired by my love of the natural landscape and animal life; always wanted to be a marine biologist.
I set up my garden shed as a studio, amongst the plant pots and garden feed, hence SeadaArtworks meaning Shed Artworks in Scottish Gaelic. Working away in the shed, summer months only in-between tending to the large garden as my wife and I are also very keen gardeners.
I started going to local Fairs with a stall to sell and sold a few, gave away a lot, but got my name out there. Made a few commissions and got invited to design Christmas cards for local towns and surprisingly got invited back to their annual fairs. Still not a Millionaire !!
Now in retirement, and unfortunately not having my beloved dogs anymore, I have more time on my hands to practise and improve.
Still learning my craft, I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy creating them
