Designers Against Coronavirus

Learn more about the project that is engaging with people through images all over the world

During these difficult times, the response of the international creative community of all industries has been amazing. Many illustrators and designers have created images to inform, express solidarity, and spread a sense of hope.

CaroselloLab, the Italian agency specialized in brand building and designing, wants to make sure all this work does not fade away. Over the past few weeks, they have built Designers Against Coronavirus, DAC, a platform gathering this artwork and making it available to the public.

What does it consist of?

AC is a digital archive curated by CaroselloLab presenting the current world reality from the point of view of several designers. Its main objective is to inspire communication and share work that unifies people through beauty and creativity.

Hundreds of creatives joined the DAC campaign on Instagram within a day of its launch.

The designs

The platform today offers a compilation of pieces by famous artists such as Malika Favre, Akatre, Gio Pastori, and many more.
It displays a mosaic of artwork. Clicking on each piece reveals the name of the artist and a personal thought about the effects of isolation.
See below a small selection of the artwork:

Stay Home

Around the questions about the miracle cure that can eradicate the virus, I just wanted to express the idea that the real remedy not to get sick, and at the same time fight the virus large-scale was simply to stay at home.

One of the first daily necessities that ran out in the stores was hand sanitizer. What was easily accessible once was no longer available to us. That left me feeling a deficiency of abundance, and I kept picturing myself swimming in a pool of Purell (the most well-known hand sanitizer brand in the US).

During the corona crisis loads of messages are being shared. Since I believe a message gets across better with a powerful image, I started making 'Typorona' posters.

Further scope of the project

DAC, besides being an online art exhibition that stirs emotions and raises awareness, is also a tool that engages and invites visitors to donate to the International Red Cross and support the medical community on the front line tackling this global health emergency.
