Drawing Tutorial: How to Color a Pug

Learn how to paint an adorable pug in this easy-to-follow tutorial!

Today we are going to teach you to color an adorable pug! By following along with these steps you will learn all the techniques needed to make your illustration come to life, and even practice coloring other animals!

Step 1: Base Color

Add the base color and then the shadows. Alternate between sharp and soft edges, and for an extra touch draw the fur texture with a lighter color on the shadow area.

Step 2: Color The Features

Now it’s time for some details, accentuate the facial features with a darker brown. Soften the eyes with a touch of brown and then add some sparkle.

Step 3: Texture

Let's add a bit more fluffiness with some texture. Add a touch of light and texture with a soft brush pn the ears and the top of the muzzle. Then with a very light shade accentuate with a soft brush the round parts of the dogs body, such as the legs and belly. Lastly with a textured brush of your choice add some fun streaks for a natural look.

Now, your pug is done and ready to be shown off!
