It’s October 4th meaning … Happy World Animal Day! Today we celebrate our favorite friends and unite the animal welfare movement, mobilizing it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals!

Domestika teacher Julie Mellan is an illustrator from France. Her love for art came from the first day she could hold a pen; where she would spend her childhood drawing animal characters from classic Disney animated movies. She currently holds a literary bachelor’s degree where she studied classic drawing, painting, illustration, and animation. Upon graduating she spent her days practicing and learning every day; with her work now appearing in many children’s books around the world!

In her course “Dynamic Animal Illustration for Children’s Stories”, she teaches students how to draw anthropomorphic characters that bring joy to young readers by exploring the fundamentals of animal anatomy, posing, and stylization. By learning these drawing techniques you will be able to light up the imagination of young readers through character illustration.
