Fe Seligman

Hello,

I am Fe Seligman, a homemaker and a future grandma. It's been my lifelong dream to write and illustrate books for children. This started when I told original stories to my "hyper" sons to put them to sleep. I never really put those stories into writing nor documented those. I kept everything in my head. My stories were shaped by fairy tales and folk tales I learned from my parents and grandparents in the Philippines and from both Filipino and American books I read in school. Of those fairy tales I read, I was fascinated most by the pictures I saw more than the words that I read.

Just like you, I was (and still am) a big fan of fairy tales and loved Beatrix Potter's wonderful illustrations and warm, pastel colors. I do have a particular interest for humming birds and at one point hummingbirds become my theme in many of my Chinese Brush paintings.

Unfortunately, I am a novice and have no knowledge nor skills to write and illustrate children's book but I would love to be known as a children's writer and illustrator someday. Five years from now, I desire to create, write and illustrate and publish children's books that will touch many children's hearts and minds and allow them to experience the inexplicable joy of exploring the world of fantasy and imagination. I am excited as I take on this new adventure with you.
