Dee Ren

I am a Chinese living in New Zealand for over 20 years. Arts and music are always my love and passion. I am very please I was encouraged by a friend a few years ago to try out in music and art practice and took some art classes in 2018. Last year October, I started to make friendship bracelets and quickly fell in love with DMC embroidery threads of their shining and rich color, so I started to embroider flowers on tote bags that were sold in our local market. Meanwhile, I opened my Instagram account (@out.of.crafts) at the end of last year. The sales were slow but I got some very kind and positive feedback. I noticed that I always would make some changes every time I followed a pattern from magazines or books. Gradually I started to think to draw my own design for the embroidery work. Graphic design is always at the back of my head since I knew it when studying computer science at Auckland University. I never think I can do any original drawing and never think to give graphic design a try. So here I am, feeling blessed and pleased, I have not given up the idea after all :)
