Hi , I am 52 years old, time flies... :)
In my late twenties. I went to art academy for drawing. In Belgium we have art academies in most cities where adults can learn arts in the evening or during weekends. My grandfather was a painter and unfortunately II only knew him as a child, but I guess having been around his studio in my grandparents house in the seventies must have left an impression on me and later in life I instinctively got drawn to wanting to learn to draw and paint myself.
After the four years of going to the academy, I kind of stopped drawing and took a photography course. But a few years ago I bought myself a sketchbook again and drawing and painting was again a way to relax for me. I also started to get curious about art supplies I didn't have yet and visiting an art supplies shop is like being as a kid in a candy shop for me. I love notebooks as well by the way and I also started to write more and more, as a way to get my thoughts out of my system. Now and then I also play around with air dry clay.
