Alessia Romano

I am a performer and a social theater operator. I Graduated with a BA in History, Anthropology and Religions at La Sapienza University (Rome). After obtaining a MA in Social Theatre, I started to explore the possibility of applying theatrical tools to the social sphere. Since then, my artistic research has been based on an attempt to construct artistic actions that can have political relevance for the context in which they are carried out. Since 2020 my work has been running in collaboration with the theater company Jubilo Foundation (Wroclaw,PL), whereby I develop theater projects in different milieus including prison. With Jubilo I have participated as theatre operator in international projects like Erasmus plus and Creative Europe collaborating with artistic international groups. Actually I am also working as project manager and cultural operator in a third sector foundation, engaged in combating school dropout and promoting social and cultural fabric among young people living in suburbs of Rome.
