I am a commercial photographer with my focus being on travel and lifestyle photography. I live in a semirural area outside Phoenix Arizona. I have been able to travel around the US, particularly the Southwestern US, a number of countries in Europe, Japan, China and SE Asia, Central America and Peru in South America. The challenge at this point is that travel is difficult to impossible due to the Covid-19, and even in my region most activities have been canceled. It also does not make sense yet to engage models for lifestyle photography due to social distancing. So I am drawing on different subjects that are in my metropolitan region. I did one road trip recently would like to do more. A related problem where I am is that this is the summer and we have very, very hot here in Arizona where I live. So, almost everywhere in a day's driving distance is just too hot to spend time in.
I am thinking though as I am writing this that I could take different objects from my travels and compose different scenes that draw on that theme. For example, Madrid, or Barcelona - perhaps some photographs with a certain palettes and perhaps objects (pens, fans, paper, books, whatever - different scenarios and themes for different series of images.. I am just beginning to get an idea of what I could do that relate to travel and lifestyle compositing different items with different places - so this is a good link to the ideas that are the focus of this course.
I am working with a model who is starting to offer an active wear clothing line for women and men. I want to create a brand and an ongoing library of images for her IG page and other social media. That is the kind of work I think I can do locally.
