I really enjoyed working with the inks and drawing the flowers. The most difficult part for me was feeling that I had to capture the portrait accurately. That focus made it more difficult to be more spontaneous with the inks. It has been an interesting process, which I hope will continue to evolve until I can find a way of expression which feels most satisfying and authentic.

yes it is a hard balance to try and follow the photograph closely, yet still give freedom to the drawing - think of your initial skecth as the scaffolding to the form and then allow yourself to drift away, maybe hide the reference and allow your piece to take a new form organically. I love the end result
