Mark Hoffmann is warmly off-kilter… in personality and
aesthetic. As an award winning author/illustrator, Mark works on goofy books with goofy looks.
He would eat colors if he could. Mustard yellow looks especially tempting even though he
doesn’t like mustard. In the meantime he makes them the star of his work. Mark also has a
fondness for textures, strange perspectives and hand-lettering in his illustrations. He was raised
in Minnesota and earned his BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, and MFA from Umass-
Dartmouth. Mark also works as a college professor of illustration where he enlightens the next
generation of artists, but more importantly makes dad jokes in class. When Mark is not creating,
teaching or parenting, he spends his free time trying to catch up on the sleep he has been
neglecting. He currently lives and works in Southern New Hampshire with his lovely wife,
sprightly son, and a plethora of pets.
