Daisy Doyle

I am Daisy, from Italy, I am a huge comic book lover and my dream is to become a comic artist. I really love manga style because back then in the early 2000, when I discovered this kind of comics, I saw it as a totally new way of making comics. It was more dynamic and cinematographic, while other comics that I read before were cool but felt more slow and static for my 11 years old self. In my town we just had a few titles like Mickey Mouse and Dylan Dog and manga art looked fresh and new. My very first manga that I read were Cyborg Kuro Chan, Mahojin Guru Guru and Mirmo (Mirumo de Pon) which strongly influenced my sense of humor and immediately gave me the wish to write parodies of popular genres such as fantasy or sci-fi. In those years I also discovered the world of The Lord of The Rings and Warhammer Fantasy which gave me a strong preference for epic fantasy. My artstyle was also strongly influenced by Pokémon Adventures and Pokémon by Miho Asada, both manga from the famous franchise which used both humor and dark elements mixed together. In this same age there was also a lot of manga from Shounen Jump like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Bleach and Naruto which I all really enjoyed. I really loved that kind of storytelling and the strong bounds between characters. Finally I decided to read some old classics like Phoenix by Osamu Tezuka and Devilman by Go Nagai which became my all time favourites. I am also trying to get into other readings not only from Japan. I really enjoyed Monster Allergy and The Manhattan Projects which is quite out of my usual readings and read a few Marvel titles like Deadpool. I really want to improve my skills and be a better comic artist and one day make a humoristic fantasy euromanga.
