Introduction
This is the final project I created for the course “Hand-Drawn Digital Animation: Bring Illustrations to Life” by Yukai Du. I designed the illustration in Procreate and animated it using After Effects and Animate, focusing on transformation and smooth frame-by-frame motion.

Supplies
For this project, I used:
- Procreate to create the main illustration in a hand-drawn style, focusing on clean lines and textured details to give the animation a handcrafted feel.
- Adobe Animate to draw the frame-by-frame transformation sequence, animating abstract shapes that connect the satellite and planet forms.
- Adobe After Effects to adjust the overall timing of the animation, animate the background movement, and add visual effects.

Moodboard & Sketches
I began by creating a moodboard on Pinterest to define the visual direction and gather inspiration. Based on that, I made a few early sketches to explore the shapes, style, and overall concept.

Storyboard
Next, I created a storyboard to plan out the animation sequence. This helped me define the key moments: the satellite, the transformation, the planet, and the return.

Frame-by-Frame Animation
I animated the transformation sequence in Adobe Animate using frame-by-frame techniques. This included drawing each stage of the abstract shapes as they morphed from satellite to planet.

Final Composition & Effects
In After Effects, I arranged all the elements, refined the timing, and added visual effects. I also applied textures and background animation to bring more depth and movement to the final piece. Finally, I rendered the project in different sizes and formats to suit various social media platforms.
