Cheo Feliciano is one of the first and greatest exponents of classic salsa. His songs, aside from being tremendously popular, are considered a fundamental part of Latin American culture and music. Classic salsa isn't exactly one of my favorite musical genres. However, having grown up in Colombia, I find in this music memories of my childhood that make me appreciate it and identify with it. All of this leads me to want to explore and experiment with what salsa conveys to me and thus achieve my own interpretation of it.
The result is a kind of tribute to the recently deceased Cheo Feliciano. With the italics, I tried to achieve a certain classic yet casual style. I also wanted the letters to have movement, so I freely shifted them from the baseline. Finally, I think the off-white tones and low-contrast gray lend a certain air of elegance and nostalgia, qualities that Cheo and his music evoke in me.

Uau, ce curat!
Îmi place amestecul de tipografie cu litere și font sans-serif, deși nu sunt sigur dacă se potrivește cu ritmul salsa. Fără să știu cine a fost artistul sau ce gen de muzică a cântat, am crezut că este ceva jazzy. Pata este perfect executată. Treabă grozavă!!
