My project for course: Character Creation for Animation: Shapes, Color, and Expression

For this final project I focused on fixing my assignments based on the teacher notes and the brief.

Things I worked on:
*creating more confident lines
*maintaining consistent skull shape and size when creating expressions
*opening up and pushing Janu's poses a little more
*maintaining clearer continuity between my drawings and the iconic lines shapes and colors from the reference characters from the brief

The BRIEF
Title: Janu's Journey

Episode for tv show: season 1 has 10 episodes, 20 minutes running time with recurring characters. It will be a 2D show with a possibility of 3D.

Target Audience: 7 -12 yr olds. The show will be full of self-discovery, adventure and heart. Focusing on growing up with adhd and finding tools that help them achieve their goals.

Plot: A 7yr old named Janu wants desperately to be a great baker like her ancestors, but everything keeps getting in her way. yr 2022

The environment is Janu's home.
Janu (7): A chubby genderfluid child with big dreams, easily distracted, curious, quirky, adventure seeking and experience loving.
Cordy (3): playful dog, high energy, sweet. She is medium sized Aussiedore-ish, short fur.
Danga (10): Imaginary friend, see-through? Confident, accomplished, strong willed, fearless... if she wants something she goes and gets it. Supportive of Janu.

Briefing:
To design the look of the main characters, Janu and their best friends. Janu must look like they have their own style, they walk to the beat of their own drum. Cordy is everything you would want a dog to be, fun, energizing, lovable, gentle, if necessary, bouncy! Danga is a bolder, taller, slightly older, put together version of Janu. She is who Janu aspires to be.
