I used to do more sketching when I was at high school. More of still life with pencil ✏️ only, light and shades. I loved it so much. I started practicing by drawing some of the characters in my syllabus books when I was 13 years old in Cairo Egypt. And the school teacher would hang them on the wall. After getting into pharmacy school then graduating, then work, then immigration, then 4 years hard core board exams, then family and business...yady yady yada. I realised it’s all non ending cycles. I need to make time for what I like doing. It was hard to dig down all these years of accumulated thickness of life distractions to go back to that pleasure of a 13 years old kid drawing for hours and losing sense of time when in the act! Came across your DOMESTIKA coarse through Pinterest when I was working on traveler handbook to our down all my thoughts and ideas in drawing. An idea read in Barbara Sher book of “Refuse to choose” talking about putting doing every single idea comes to you down on sketch book and called it Daybook.
On my first meditation, I saw a project I’m inspired with. An RV, converted from a transit bus, towing an SUV and at the back of the RV is an extended back fender rack holding a motorcycle. An if idea of a complete freedom and self sustainable state of life! I wanted to draw it, as a first step to bring that to life.
