Hashim Akib

I paint using Acrylic, with loose, bold, colourful strokes. Loading several colours in one application, every mark plays a pivotal role in the images I paint. I love depicting cityscapes and over the years my style has evolved from traditional to a more contemporary, Impressionistic feel.
Working as an illustrator for over 15 years, I began developing my own paintings and started exhibiting, demonstrating and running painting workshops. I am a represented artist and have won numerous art awards. I am a regular contributor to The Artist and Illustrators magazine, author of ‘Vibrant Acrylics’, ’Painting Cityscapes’, ‘Painting Techniques for Artists’, acrylic section, ‘Painting Portraits in Acrylics’ and my latest book 'Acrylic Companion'.
