Having holidayed in Thailand off and on since 2008 I have only this year permanently relocated to Chiang Mai, Thailand from Australia. Although photography is not actually a passion of mine I have owned and used Nikon DSLR cameras for quite some time. Over the last few years I have taken a liking to photographing many of the structures and features within the many temples that the "old city" of Chiang Mai has to offer. Having said that I have always taken photos using the auto setting on the camera. I have managed to combine the photos with the history and description of the forty or so temples and hope to create a flipbook or e-book sometime next year. I will then expand my interest to other temples outside the "old city" and move into the mountains and provinces as Thailand has "hundreds" of temples on display. The time has come for me to move away from "auto focus" and transition into "manual mode" and then possibly to "Lightroom" or "Photoshop."
