Rochelle Hawksley

Hello!
I'm Rochelle, originally an ex-pat from the UK who moved to Switzerland in 2017 to be with my Swiss partner Tobias.
I am someone keen to learn new sugar craft/ baking skills and have always had a passion for all things baking/cake decorating and eating! I have had the pleasure over the years to make cakes for close freinds and family. One highlight for me was being able to make my brother and sister-in-laws Wedding Cake (2011), and another more recently was my best friends Wedding Cake (2020).
Back in 2009/2010 I attended a 2 year Wired-Sugar-flower course at Bournemouth College, England (being mentored by the lovely Lesley Rathbone), alongside some basic Patisserie courses which i thoroughly enjoyed and excelled at. As well as being introduced to the amazing work of Alan Dunn and other Sugar-Craft experts, i had the chance to visit Squires Kitchen Sugar-Craft-Show. This inspired me to fully immerse myself in "the world of Sugar-Craft". I have been lucky enough to get to know Dawn Pennington (from penningtons School of Cake Artistry, UK) and meet the great Mary Ford, as she awarded me my end of Course certificate.
I then went on to take part in a few small courses mentored by the lovely Karen (formerlly from Magic Moments Cake-craft Shop In Parkstone, Dorset, UK), to learn the basics of cake covering/decorating, and continued evening classes with my Wired-sugar-flower teacher. All these courses and experiences spurred me on to try and become Self employed. Sadly at the time it wasnt meant to be. Fast forwarding a few years to now, i am reconsidering my options to become a Self employed, Cottage industry Cake maker and decorater (or even teacher). Hence why I have regestered for 2 Courses ran by amazingly talented Instructors with Domestika. I was introduced to Carlos Lischettis books and creations years ago and have been in awe of his talent ever since. I accidently came across these courses which is most certainly is a stoke of luck for me! I am looking forward to learning from the experts and re-igniting my creative spark.
