I'm brand new at portrait painting and so I learned a lot... Jane makes it look SO easy.... but that's the years and years of practice she's put in that i have to put in still! I think that the course offers a useful series of manageable steps for a beginner like me to produce a portrait. I'm looking forward to having a go!

I really enjoyed this course and found it particularly helpful to understand colour mixing and the importance of value when selecting colours. It would have been helpful to have a bit more close-up details of final stages as these are so important and it was difficult at times to follow along.

I found this course very helpful. Jane explains very clearly and it was great to see her palette and how she creates strings of colours. She models how she mixes and paints and creates light and shade. She uses many more colours than I have been. The FAQ was great to find out exactly which colours she was using. I followed along in acrylics not oils, and following her advice, that worked fine for me. Good course!

Jane's class is the best of the many oil painting classes that I have taken over the past decade. She breaks her process down to a detailed explanation of the colors she is mixing and of each brushstoke. She explains what colors she is using and why at every step. Thank you for a great class.

Wonderful course, just wish the Artist mentioned the colors she used, not just saying blue, red yellow, black etc.
there are so many variants in each color.
but all in all, i enjoyed it.
