Introduction
Designing a mobile app for Journey
As part of a UI design course on Domestika, I designed a mobile app concept for Journey, a platform that enhances travel planning for adventure seekers.

Supplies
Supplies & Tools
Figma — for wireframing, prototyping, and building the final UI
FigJam — for early ideation, mood boards, and mapping user flows
Photoshop — for editing assets and crafting custom visual elements
These tools allowed me to move fluidly from concept to execution, balancing strategy, collaboration, and visual polish throughout the design process.
Defining the Look: Mood Boards & Visual Direction
The project emphasized visual storytelling, beginning with curated mood boards. I explored two opposing styles—one sleek and modern, the other playful and illustrative

The final version has a sharper color edge, more motion, and a clear sense of purpose.
—locking into a direction inspired by performance brands like Nike and Adidas. The final design leans into bold motion, sharper contrasts, and a visual tone that says “let’s move,” not just “let’s explore.”

Design Language & Visual System
A bold, movement-driven visual identity inspired by active exploration and intentional design. The system features dynamic components, a responsive grid, and a high-contrast palette to inject energy while maintaining clarity. I chose Inter for its versatility and modern utility—its clean geometry, open counters, and excellent legibility make it ideal for fast, on-the-go interactions. I established a clear type hierarchy using weight and size to guide attention: bold headlines energize the interface, while lighter body text supports readability across different screen sizes. Inter’s neutral tone also pairs seamlessly with custom icons and high-contrast UI elements, letting content and motion take the spotlight.
