My project for course: Introduction to Puppet Making for Stop Motion

For my summer holiday in Denmark, I planned to make a puppet based on Adeena Grubb's fantastic course. It turned out to be ‘Rabbit with trousers’ ("Hase mit Hose" in German), a character that has been climbing into my drawing book for several years now.

I can tell you that it was quite an up and down. The absolute low blow was the rabbit breaking his pelvis on both sides (all of you who have done the course know what that means). At 1.00 am at night. I wanted to give it all up. ⚡️
… I took a break for a few days and cooled off my frustration in the waves of the north sea 😉

And then I carried on after all. Rabbit with trousers now has stiff hips and can't sit. (Too bad for stop-motion, but never mind.) Of course I also sewed him a pair of trousers. And I nevvvvvver sew anything else! (Let alone clothes.)
The highlight was the moment when I put his eyes in and when the head came onto the body. Suddenly the bunny with trousers was ‘there’. A real personality. ♥️
