My project for course: Concept Art: Character Design & Worldbuilding - Swordsman.

Not so long ago I've started a new personal fantasy project, and though I've already been thinking about its world and characters, this course helped me summarise the information and to make first more or less decent iteration of the main character.

So, here's my project ^_^

The World

Rules: earth-like fantasy, also there are traces of an ancient civilization.
Bio me Rules: great mountains, forests, rivers and lakes, climate is mostly mild but also colder and warmer climate zones are quite distinguished.
Resource Rules: there are some traveling merchants but basically one need to go to the city market to trade artifacts and resources for another materials.

The Setting

Style: different metals, stones as well as fabric and natural materials. The existing technology is sometimes mixed with power of ancient magic artifacts; all interactions with the world are experienced through main characters.
Framework: the events are divided into historical, character's past and current events; everything is shown through main character's experience.
History: ancient civilization ruins is a place of main scientific interest where a valuable source of power could be found and also a place to get some artifacts for selling. Lots of expeditions tried to get to the core but with no success, but one day the mysterious cult out of nowhere sets the ancient mechanism (and current events) in motion.

The Character - Swordsman

Who: a boy who was a great swordsman's apprentice took part in a daring and dangerous expedition that failed badly, no one survived except for the boy, who was wounded and found unconscious, brought to the Village where he was healed and stayed to become a guardian. Heroic kind, always tries to be optimistic.
Why: he's staying here because he's grateful for his salvation, and also secretly has a crush on a girl which was born here; he wants to become a guardian of a village, and a great swordsman, to be a hero. And one day he gets a chance when 'the evil' awakens.
How: he was training swordsmanship well, purposefully and almost fanatically, not to be ever defeated again, also the girl has magic powers that can be really helpful in the battle.
