It was hard to know when to stop, to be honest. I felt like I started "overworking" it at the end, so I decided it was best to keep it here. Still feel I have lots to work on, like light & shadow and utilizing textures more effectively. Susan was able to capture a certain depth and character in her piece, especially with the gas station, which I hope to be able to capture as well one day. Not a terrible first attempt at BG painting though, I'd like to think.

Teacher PlusI think you did an amazing job! For your first time, you captured all the details and I love the colors that you picked! This is such a fun coloring style too! I like that you explained your struggles about overworking because that is something I struggled with when I was learning. It is hard to just stop, you are always wondering could there be more?! Im glad you took a step back because I think it turned out wonderful! You captured the gas station really well and I hope you continue on your BG Painting journey!

@suzcorriander Thank you so much, Susan! I guess with practice it’s one of the skills I’ll eventually develop. I loved the course and thank you for the line art! It made diving into BG paint less stressful, as I only had to concentrate on learning the painting part. Baby steps. Fingers crossed my next piece goes just as smoothly.
