In this course, Jilipollo shows you how to represent any object or setting in a three-dimensional way, starting with the basic perspective drawing skills, to the most complex and interesting techniques. Illustrator Javier Medellín, better known as Jilipollo, shares about the path that led him to illustration, and talks about his career along the way. He also shares his influences and references that inspire his work.
He explains the different types of perspective that exist, from the basic vanishing point technique to the surprising fisheye method. Javier talks about the basic principles of composition to keep in mind to achieve a visually attractive illustration.
Discover the method for giving a 3D effect and depth to your characters within a space, so they look realistic and natural. Explore perspective and depth in natural settings also, and learn some techniques and effect such as reflections on different surfaces.
Then, learn the basic principles of the theory of color and the harmonies they generate amongst themselves. Use a reduced color range based on the technique you choose, helping you to create clear and alluring compositions. Lastly, see how Javier digitizes his illustrations, seeing how to add effects and final textures to create a more artisanal feel to your work.
Once you have finished this course, you’ll have the confidence to create your own scenes with depth and volume using different perspectives and create spectacular illustrations.

Requirements and materials
It is recommended to have basic drawing skills to take this course: the ability to trace freehand lines and curves will help.
As for materials, you will need 2H and 2B pencils, basic sketching paper of A4 size, an eraser, a dusting brush for drawing tables, a set of right-angle rulers, Bristol paper, a T ruler for practical exercises, and other materials you wish to include, depending on the technique you choose to apply. If you want to digitize your illustration, you will need a computer with Adobe Photoshop.
